Education

Education is a core pillar in development.

For this reason, stakeholders in the education sector will meet in Paris, France to discuss developments, trends and predictions in the sector.

While there are quite obvious predictions, some future projections are quite amazing.

These are the trends and predictions that will prove key when everyone congregates in France.

Whereas the sector has experienced remarkable growth and most populations now have access to education, at least 5 countries will still have more than 20% of their respective populations with no education in 2050.

The countries include Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and Ethiopia.

Again, futurists indicate that the education rate in developing economies may not be uniform.

A case in point is Brazil and Russia.

While Brazil will experience a rise in population, the population of Russia is bound to decline.

Moreover, every Russian of age is expected to have successfully completed secondary education.

90 years from today, universities will still be enlightenment institutions with freshman classes consisting of 17, 18, or 19-year-olds.

At this age, people are open to learning, growth and experimentation. Therefore, regardless of the teaching methodologies, universities will be a critical developmental pillar where young people seek knowledge, social and economic information as well as enlightenment.

Education systems across the globe will undergo an insurmountable transformation.

The first stage ending at age five will provide knowledge on child-rearing, traditions, and nutrition among others. The second stage will consist of a more formal schooling system.

The basic section will end with a four-phase which will intermarry career education, technical skills training and community service. Futurists say that this is where most people will end their education.

Today, there is a wide gap between academia and private industries.

The public, private or business world will no longer view tutors as "mere teachers", instead they will be seen as an engine for skills and technological advancements.

Again, more teachers and researchers will become entrepreneurs.

Libraries will still exist but in smaller spaces with unique physical books and resourceful manuscripts.

They will provide direction and instructions on information on information retrieval, reference and advisory services.

That notwithstanding, most physical resources will be substituted with sophisticated tools and digital resources.

According to the current trends, most people will use brain-enhancement drugs to improve attentiveness and memory.

Again, with the projected just-in-time-based mode of learning, students will have pieces of training and information delivered to them when and where they need it. Our guess is that this will improve efficiency in learning.

Finally, it is predicted that there will be lifelong learning systems and the use of public information for learning purposes.

These, among other exciting education predictions, are always put to the discussion at Paris Talks.

The Paris Talks ideas festival provides an opportunity for scholars to analyze how learning and the entire education system could morph into an entirely different, efficient and effective model.
